Tide ULTRA for Windows 1.0.5
Lucian Labs - https://waveloop.app/tide

Voice notes that turn every take into living art. Press R and talk, sing
or hum: every take lands on one tape and draws itself as a row of leaves
under the stars. Record over it, loop it, scratch through it.

RUN IT
  1. Unzip this folder anywhere you like (Desktop, Documents...).
  2. Double-click tide.exe.
There is no installer, and nothing to uninstall.

Tide ULTRA draws its own window: drag the top strip to move it, drag
any edge to resize, and the three at the top right minimise, maximise and close
  it. F11 goes full screen.

Click TIDE at the top (or press ENTER) for every setting, each with a
line on what it does. F1 is the manual.

"WINDOWS PROTECTED YOUR PC"
The first time you open it, Windows SmartScreen may stop it. Tide ULTRA
isn't signed with a paid code-signing certificate yet, so Windows doesn't
recognise the publisher. Click "More info", then "Run anyway". You only
  do this once.

Before you do, you can check this is the file we published: its SHA-256
is on the download page. In PowerShell:
      Get-FileHash .\tide.exe

WHERE THINGS GO
Sketches Music\tide\ - one folder per sketch
(change it: click TIDE at the top > LIBRARY FOLDER)
  Exports Music\tide\exports\
  Settings %APPDATA%\WaveLoop\tide.ini
Rigs %APPDATA%\WaveLoop\rigs\ - one file per interface,
shared with the other WaveLoop apps (see AUDIO)
  Log %USERPROFILE%\.waveloop\tide.log

There is nothing to save: Tide ULTRA keeps every take as you make it,
and opens where you left off - the same sketch, with its cursor where
you left it, and the rig as you set it.

Want it all in one folder instead (a USB stick, say)? Put an empty file
named tide.ini next to tide.exe and Tide ULTRA keeps its settings there,
with sketches and exports in a "tide" folder and rigs in a "rigs"
folder beside it. The log still goes to %USERPROFILE%\.waveloop.

MOVING SKETCHES FROM YOUR IPHONE
A sketch is a folder with a long ID for a name (like
  3F2504E0-4F89-11D3-9A0C-0305E82C3301), holding meta.json, tape.f32 and
a WAV. It is the same folder on the iPhone and here, so you can carry it
either way. It opens with its takes, loop and zoom as you left them,
drawn as leaves under the stars.

On the iPhone the sketch folders sit in Tide's files, inside a folder
named Tide. To reach them from this PC, plug the iPhone in and open the
Apple Devices app (or iTunes): pick the iPhone, then Files > Tide.

To bring one here, copy its folder straight into Music\tide - not into
a folder inside it. To send one back, copy the folder from Music\tide
into that Tide folder on the iPhone. It keeps the look you picked on the
  iPhone when it goes back.

Close Tide ULTRA before you copy sketches in or out.

A sketch recorded at another sample rate is converted when it opens.
Its files are only rewritten once you change something in it.

AUDIO
Click TIDE at the top: the AUDIO rows pick the device, the sample rate
and the buffer size, and the AUDIO line shows what actually opened.
Tide ULTRA starts on your Windows default microphone and plays through
the output on the same driver. It remembers the device by name. If
another app is holding the mic, it opens the next one it can and a
banner says so. If Windows has microphone access turned off for desktop
apps, a banner offers to open that setting.

Tide ULTRA picks a WASAPI device (the Windows audio system) first; the
older Windows driver types are in the DEVICE list too. EXCLUSIVE, on a
WASAPI device, gives the lowest latency: Tide ULTRA takes the device, so
other apps can't play or record through it while it is open. This build
  does not include ASIO.

THE RIG (press A): Tide ULTRA opens every input your device offers
and mixes them into the one stereo input it records. Mute what you
don't want, set levels and pan, join stereo pairs, and keep four
setups as scenes. Each interface keeps its own rig, saved in
%APPDATA%\WaveLoop\rigs (portable: the rigs folder beside tide.exe).
This build uses WASAPI: Windows may show an interface as separate
two-input devices - if you only see inputs 1 and 2, pick the device
that holds the others in TIDE > AUDIO > DEVICE.

MONITOR (M) plays your input back live. It is off every time
Tide ULTRA starts, because on laptop speakers it feeds back. Put
  headphones on first.

KEYS
? every key on one sheet (press it again, or ESC, to put it away).
Rest the mouse on a button and its key shows up beside it.
Not a US or UK keyboard? ? and [ ] also work from where they sit on a
US one: SHIFT + the key left of the right SHIFT, and the two keys
  right of P.

SPACE play / pause (stops a take) R record / stop
S stop W back to the start (or the loop's in point)
  [ / ] the cursor a second back / on SHIFT + [ / ] five seconds
CTRL + LEFT / RIGHT the take before / after
HOME / END the start / end of the tape
(while recording these move the take, as a click on the canvas does)
  L loop on/off I / O loop in / out at the cursor
  M monitor Z ZEN / FULL controls
  P paint mode 1-9, 0, - and = the twelve colours
ARROWS move the XY stick X centre it
CTRL + wheel zoom wheel up and down
SHIFT + wheel along the take CTRL + 0 follow the cursor again
  E or CTRL + E export a WAV B or BACKSPACE library
ENTER or CTRL + , settings F1 help
F2 rename CTRL + N new sketch ESC close the top thing
CTRL + C clear the sketch (asks first)
A the rig: every input, its level, mute and pan, and four scenes

  While the rig is open (it wears a gold edge) it has 1-4 (its scenes;
SHIFT copies one), UP / DOWN (an input), LEFT / RIGHT (its level),
ENTER (mute) and ESC (close it). The other keys work as usual.

MIDI: plug in any controller. The C1 row is the transport, and CC 10
and CC 74 move the XY stick. A Launch Control XL 3 goes into DAW mode
on its own: the top button row is play, record, back to the start,
monitor, clear (it asks), loop in, loop out and loop; the bottom row
is the four scenes, then ZEN / FULL, library, inputs and settings.
Fader 1 and the first knob move the XY stick, the last knob of the top
row moves the cursor, and the last knobs of rows two and three move
  the loop's in and out.

Mouse: click the canvas to place the cursor (while recording the take
jumps there and keeps rolling). Drag the canvas sideways to scratch.

In the library: the arrow on the right of a row (or ENTER) loads it, SPACE plays it
without opening it, a click on its name (or F2) renames it, DEL then DEL again asks to delete it.
Drop audio files (WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, WMA) anywhere on the window
  to bring them in.

REMOVE IT
Delete this folder. To clear its settings too, delete
%APPDATA%\WaveLoop\tide.ini. Your sketches stay in Music\tide until
you delete them. The rigs folder, %APPDATA%\WaveLoop\rigs, is shared
with the other WaveLoop apps: delete it only if none of them uses it.
